When you are in a business meeting in Luxembourg you’re not only dealing with people from this nationality, because one third of the country’s population is from somewhere else. A business meeting in Luxembourg is run by an agenda and this agenda is always the guideline during the meeting. The points on the agenda are all work-related but this doesn’t mean that there is no flexibility.
A meeting in Luxembourg is almost pure and only about the business. Sometimes you can have a little small talk at the beginning of a meeting, but keep it short! You can try for example “the weather or yesterday’s football match”. The most of the meetings are held in teams and there is a difference in hierarchy. Of course you can talk to your superior about anything, but respect is an important factor in the process (Makkinga, and ‘t Hart, 2012).
